"Turns out there is a game of Blog-Tag going around
the blogosphere in which bloggers are sharing five
things about themselves that relatively few people
know, and then tagging five other bloggers to be
"it.""

While I'm not sure how open some of my
friends/readers are to a game of Blog-Tag but here
goes:

[Five things about The Reader that relatively few people know:]

1. I used to be an exercise nut.
2. I read a lot!

20071001

A pleasant weekend. The weather was unseasonably
mild and while I was indoors catching up on
movies, I had time to go out to the beach and
have dinner in a local restaurant. Tried to sleep
early but ended up late reading photography
manuals.

And thus, I'm sleepy today!

My current photography goals

My current photography goals are:
- Sports/Athletes/People/Animals in Motion
- Some landscapes/sceneries etc.
- Some events
- Some portraits

Based on my goals, my current photography
wishlist:

Based on this list.

20070926

Another rough day. I'm rested but there's been so
much work to do that I find myself multitasking.
And multitasking is actually LESS PRODUCTIVE!!!

20070924

Rough weekend for me.

Friday - Housecleaning, maintenance and donation
of unneeded items to a non-profit

Saturday - Photography session at a local sports
tournament, then some post production work.

Sunday - Ate too much! Darn spicy food is good!!!

Monday - Ate Sunday’s leftovers… It’s still
good!!! Another photography session at another
tournament. Stayed up late just to do some post
production work.

Why I like teaching...

- it's nice to be able to contribute your
experience/knowledge with younger people.
- it (generally) has less stress compared to
brain surgery or CEO of a multinational
corporation (for example).

However,
- the monetary rewards from teaching are
insufficient.
- it's sometimes difficult to deal with academics
who are out of touch with real-life outside "the
ivory tower
".

Why I like computers...

- it's a good profession
- it's a good hobby
- I (usually) get the information I need fast

However,
- It's a time sink! I can easily lose track of
time surfing various sites and watching
various movies.
- The learning never ends! New devices,
technology, protocols etc. will have to be
analyzed for practical applications to one's
needs.

Remembering some (good) people I’ve met…

The person that was a product of a mixed marriage:
He /She was abandoned by his/her father before
birth. The person worked at an young age, paid
for his/her college education and even supported
his/her mother in her retirement. The person got
married, has 3 kids and is financially
independent.

The 2nd-generation immigrant:
The person was born in a small Midwest town to 2
immigrants. Person grows up, gets an education,
moves to the big city and over time, becomes
financially independent. Person looks to start a
family and searches his/her parents' old country

Remembering some people I’ve met…

A person who thinks too highly of himself:
Person was born to a rich family and grows up
with other rich people in their neighborhood.
He/She uses his/her connections to inflate
his/her social standing usually by name-dropping
and similar tactics. The family fortune reverses
and now the person is working a regular job just
like most of us. Person is now looking to get
ahead in life and is looking for investments and
money-making schemes of dubious reputation.

A person who thought he/she was a bigshot:
The person was higher up in the entertainment

Why I like participating in sports...

- it's fun!
- it contributes to my health and general well-being

However...
- You can be injured.
- As with anything in life, it takes a
substantial amount of time and money
to get good at it.
