Upgraded the server. It was no problem except for the photogallery. That took a little more effort than usual. Lesson? Do not install gallery via "apt-get". Install it manually in a partition you choose (Allow room for growth!). Then you can just symlink to it via the webserver. Of course, will still test other software just to be sure I've not lost functionality.

Affinity Fraud and Social Engineering

I've seen this type of "Social Engineering" in
various forms. It's interesting but it's just a
matter of being aware.

For example: Many years ago, a car salesman tried
it on me as was casually asking if I drove to the
dealership and what job I had. I answered I took
the bus and that I was a janitor. Why? I assumed
that he was trying to find out if I had a car
(For trade-in purposes) and how much I was able
to afford (After all, one can figure out a salary

Bought a pair of these:

I tried it for a block and it feels weird. Even my
walking pattern is different. However, it feels
nice and it seems I'm using new muscles in my feet.
This will take some getting used to.

Hopefully, this will strengthen my feet.

My weekend's winding down. It has been pleasant.. Mostly spent reading and researching. Listening to relaxing lite jazz... No pressure to do anything or go anywhere... Why can't it always be this way?

It has been a fairly busy past week. Photos, working out, work and going out. What a routine! I end up being exhausted and sleepy at the end of the day. But the good news is it's getting warmer and that means more outdoor activities!

The Panhandler

I was on the train and a Panhandler came
around asking for a handout.

From what I can make out, he was saying this...

"... ex-offender, I need some advice on where to
go for help. I'm in desperate need of a 7-day
pass. Would somebody please spare change or help
me while I continue my search for a job for an
ex-offender. I'm asking for help I can't do it

Opinions, Trust and more...

I've been reading various blogs. It amazes me the
amount of opinions out there. Millions! And almost
everything will have both critics and supporters.

What's one person to do when he/she needs
information or an opinion?

I'll use shopping for a fishing rod as an example
of decision-making.

For me, if at all possible, I'd research all
facts and select my best options e.g. The fishing
rod costs $123 in X-Store vs $130 in Y-store.

Of course, more in-depth analysis might suite

Lunch with a friend

Had lunch with a rarely seen friend.... Let's just say eventually age catches up with us.
